Panyard Steel Orchestra featuring Chris Hanning,
Lalo Davila and Junior Gill

Late Night Performance
Friday, 10:00 p.m.

Panyard

The Panyard Steel Orchestra (PSO) is one of the only professional steel orchestras of its kind in the United States.  Featured at many steel drum festivals including the International Association of Pan Conventions, the PSO performs some of the most complex literature from the island of Trinidad. The PSO members include St. Lucian vocalist Deighton “Revealer” Charlemagne, Angel Bice, Stan Dahl and Steve Lawrie on Lead, Ron Kerns and Scott Velardo on Seconds, Steve Popernack on Cello, and Jim Huff on Bass. These core members of the group represent the driving force behind the successful steel drum company Panyard, Inc. They are not only top performers, but design and build the “Solid Hoop” pans that create the rich sound of the PSO. Featured artists this year will include Philadelphia drummer Chris Hanning, Switzerland panist Junior Gill, and Nashville percussionist Lalo Davila.  Junior Gill performs all over the world with Billy Cobham’s group, Lalo Davila can be seen with the top performing groups in the Nashville area, and Chris Hanning recently released his drum set instruction DVD “Island Grooves” that has revolutionized the education of this style of drum set performance.
